Environmental Improvement - Volunteers help in the city of Clearwater: Sponsored by the Church of Scientology

[Picture] Church volunteers of all ages contribute thousands of hours to city and Bay area environmental projects, including the annual Coastal Clean-Up Day and Clean-Up Downtown events. They have also participated in tree-planting and sea-oak planting efforts throughout the area to preserve and improve the environment.

The Church of Scientology and many volunteers have adopted 28 streets and highways in the Tampa Bay area.

In August of 1998, the Church of Scientology made the Guiness Book of Records by moving the largest live oak tree in history to make way for its new Flag Building. The 100 year-old tree continues to thrive to this day.
