Volunteers help in the city of Clearwater: Sponsored by the Church of Scientology An increase in coordination and cooperation between community groups has made recent times a record for volunteerism in Clearwater. Over 2001 and 2002, members of the Church of Scientology living in the Clearwater area alone contributed more than 340,000 volunteer man-hours in the community. Church of Scientology volunteers share one thing—a sense of social responsibility. They have a very high interest in getting involved in their community, and they do so. Their actions included tutoring programs, environmental cleanups, food and charity drives, entertainment for children, sporting events and entertainment for senior citizens.
